Dining

Burgundy is renowned for its excellent food and wine. Dinners are left to the discretion of the individual. We can recommend numerous nearby restaurants for memorable dining experiences, and Sylvi will offer the group a dinner at her 18th century farmhouse which she restored herself on the first night of the retreat so that individuals participating can get to know each other & she can answer questions about afternoon activity choices. Those who share the tower apartments with their own kitchen may enjoy shopping for fresh fare at the beautiful outdoor markets with their abundance of fresh locally grown fruits, vegetables, wild mushrooms and grains, and the locally produced cheeses, honey, artisan breads and jams.

Accomodations

Accommodations are in an 18th century stone castle which has been restored to its original glory with only the added touches of modern plumbing and electricity. The castle is hidden in a forest with acres of its own land. The single rooms are situated in the castle’s main body while the apartments are in the towers. A wonderful healthy breakfast and delicious 3 course organic vegetarian/vegan lunch are included daily. You may opt out of the meals, prepared by a chef at their beautiful restaurant La Roserai nearby, if you prefer to prepare your own lunches. There is an organic market if you are interested in doing this.

Alternate accommodations are available at La Roseraie, a beautifully restored 19th century house that was a hotel with restaurant since 1856, where meals are served. The house was empty for 23 years & then beautifully restored with bedrooms.  Each room has its private bath & can accommodate 1 or 2 people. There is also an entire cottage available with a kitchen as well.
